An Addiction to Acting

Over the years, which is thirteen and counting, I find that no matter how many roles or projects I do I don't fill fulfilled. There is always a new challenge to chase after. Whether that would be perfecting an accent or getting the blocking right it is all a challenge. Acting in NOT easy. Imagine trying to control every movement you make and remembering when you made it. Think about the way you speak and which accent you use. How do you pronounce "About" or "Wolf". All of these details are incredibly important for an actor. At it's root I find that I am trying to understand how humans work. How do we treat strangers or understand tone of voice. It is not a simple task trying to trick humans into thinking a completely staged and rehearsed moment is genuine. I believe that is why I like it.

A whole new challenge is how to work with Social Media. I don't enjoy trying to find the balance between a genuine audition and getting a role due to high 'followers'. It is understandable to want someone who already has a fan base to ease your distribution worries. For the first time in 22 years of having Instagram I felt the pressure to make my profile public due to of losing out on a role because of "low follower numbers". Now, I post images that would grab an audience. Thank goodness in my years of modeling I have gracious photographers that allow me to use their media.
